Yep I agree to a certain extent, however my current view out of my window in wet miserable grey old England, is one of the house 30 meters away, and where I live in Cochrane the view is of rockies. Although neither of these put food on the table, one makes me more content than the other.
Alas though The same doesn't apply to my wife, she is great to look at and she does put food on the table.
So if you don't like the view....move or get a divorce.

Canada - PRECARIOUS
UK - TEMPORARY
I say this as a prospective mover to Canada who has done a lot of research in the last 6 months on the feasability of a move. I've discovered that there has been somewhat of a role reversal between the two countries since I lived there in 70s/80s. UK was down and out. Now it is booming. It's short term future looks good, but due to size and poplulation it cannot be substained. This is why my one word for UK is Temporary. On the other hand Canada was booming. Now it seems to be stagnent and resting on its laurals and natural wealth. It's long term future could be great if managed wisely. This is why for me Canada is Precarious and typically sums my thoughts on a potential move. For future though, I'd have to say that the best word for Canada has to be:
POTENTIAL

cool (as in cool, man!)
unbelieveable
weird
nice
strange
materialistic
stressed (in some places)
hows that for a mixture of vibes i get about canada?

Regrettably the business, transport, and Industry infrastructure has not yet had time to mature fully, to match countries like the UK, but given time and the right Government, who knows....
