Really disappointed that we can't make this due to our 6yr old daughter who has dancing commitments, once the show has been performed (5th,6th&7th) May) I may get my life back and cease being a taxi to and from rehearsals!!

Hope you all have a great time.

Hi Top cat,

yes no problems about you coming to meet ups:thumbup:

At the moment only two have been arranged, one being the 14th and other 28th.

We live in Birmingham and trying to get the 14th meeting sorted near here, because there are a couple of families that are coming back from somewhere and fancy a meet. We have not decides where yet, I have mention Sutton Park (pub, play area, walks, good parking).

If you have any idea's please reply to thread or PM me.

Nice to here from you,
regards,
Carl:thumbsup:

We would be interested in the meet on the 14th - it would be great to meet "kindred spirits". Sutton Park would be a good choice.

Please let me know, by posting on thread or PM.

The Birmingham meet would be a better location for me. Steve D kindly let me know of the arrangements for the Nottingham meet but I think Birmingham would be easier for me.
Sutton Park sounds good, I've never been before so always good to see somewhere new.

Other suggestions if you would like any I thought possibly Stratford-Upon-Avon, there's a lovely area where the canal boats come in and out...maybe a picnic on the grass if its a nice day. Or Warwick Castle as was suggested before. Lots to do there too.
I don't mind either way, but thought I'd throw a few suggestions in the pot as well.

I'll check back later to see whats going on.
Lindsey :)

Hi all,

sounds like another good meet up place, Stratford upon Avon, have not been there for years?

Could people let me know which they would prefer please and if they are going, so I can make some sort of list. Many thanks.

We have now booked into the campsite for the Notts meet, so all go now.  :p

Hi Gibbo
Stratford or Sutton Park, I don't mind which, either would be nice especially on a day like today. As 'Spoons' said it'll be nice just to meet some like other people who are in the same boat as myself.
But count me in whichever venue it turns out to be. I take it the 14th is still the date for the midlands meet?

Lindsey:)

Hi Spoons,
hope you can join us for both/either meet-ups? As you say would/will be good to meet other fellow nutters:eek: It is a long hard road and it will be good to meet people at all stages of the process, get some hints and tips.

Thwe meet on the 28th has all been arranged, meeting at 2ish in the car park of the Major Oak. There are some details on the place and some directions. It anybody needs more help, please contacted me, by posting on this thread or PM.

I have had a lot of interest for the 14th April meet-up and there are two venues put forward, Sutton Park, Stratford-upon-Avon.
Me personally, would prefer Stratford, because it will be easier for everybody to get there and easier for people to find. It is surrounded by motorways, M5
M42, M40 and there is a large car park, right next to the river and park, for everybody to meet?
If anybody has any other meeting places in Stratford, please let us know.

I was thinking, meeting at about 11ish in this car park, can either take picnic, or can wonder into town and find pub(s) and have meal? There is a play area and loads of space in park, to meet.
Any suggestions, please come forward.:D

Looking forward to meeting everyone. The Gibbo family will be there:eek:
cheers all.

Re: Canada meet up in UK

Hi folks,
have been looking for somewhere to meet for the stratford meet up on the 14th April.

There is a big car park by the side of the river, with play area, playing fields and a short walk into the town centre.

It is the recreation ground. If you head for and go over the Clopton Bridge, turn first right, just over the bridge, down SWAN'S NEST LANE. Drive down for a shoet distance, past some toilets on your right and you will see the car park. Keep a look out for our white Mondeo and Canadian Flag.

We were thinking for about 11ish, give us a bit of time to get there and meet up, then decide what we fancy doing.

Please let me know if you would prefer other venue, or different time, etc.

would be good idea, to post or PM me to let me know how is going,
many thanks to you all,
looking forward to seeing you all,
regards,
Carl:thumbsup:

Hi Guys
Sorry I haven't been in touch - manically organising our move - we're outta here on 28th April....Picked up passports and visas from London yesterday.
Would love to come on 14th, but inlaws are being a complete nightmare, and apparently that's the only day they can see us........so will have to drop out, I'm afraid.:frown:
Keep us posted on developments, and have a great time.:)
Sharon
PS Carl, will reformat lists for you this weekend and get them over to you.

Hi Carl
I think that sounds great  I'll be there. Will do my best to get there for 11am (might be working that morning but will leave about 10am if I can, and from Coventry, it won't take too long to get there.)

I've found a map of Stratford on the internet, I'll do my best to attach the link here for others to see. It looks to me like the car park you mention is right next to the Butterfly Farm.

www.stratford-upon-avon.co.uk/soamapl.htm

My car is a blueish Ford Escort - will have an Ottawa Senators flag attached !

Out of curiosity, how many people think they'll go on 14th?

See you next weekend. ;)

Re: Canada meet up in UK

Hi all,
just to let you know that we had a real good meet yesterday:thumbsup:
The weather was brill, and it was great to walk around Stratford and have a good chat about Canada and other peoples views on the immigration process. There were 3 families, The Spoons, deano n lisa, Gibbos, and Pinzo and speaking for the Gibbos, we really enjoyed it and got plenty of hints & tips.

We met at about 11.15am, because we were late, and the Spoons found us, then Pinzo saw the flag, then I had a walk around the car park(with the flag flapping over my shoulder) and found Deano n Lisa. All ended up having a picnic in the middle of the feild next to the river, then went for a walk around Stratford, then heading to the play area and then to the cars. We all left at about 4.30pm and hopefully all coming to the next meet up at Notts.

I did mention that I would take some photo's, but person that would forget his head, if it wasn't screwed on, forgot the camera:eek: :o

Many thanks to everyone that made it, thanks for the good day. first of many we hope?
many regards,

Hi all again,

we were thinking at the last meet-up that a 2 oclock meet time, was maybe a bit late in the day for the people travelling down for the day? So I thought I would suggest, making it earlier, say about 12 noon:confused:
If that's still a bit late please let me know.

If anybody still needs any help, with directions, place to stay, or about the day, please PM, email me or Steved61:thumbsup:
