Canada ahead of the UK
I've been reading about the UK issuing its first Polymer bank notes starting with fivers in September.
We've been using polymer notes in Canada for some time.
Canada not just up with the times but in front.

"By adopting polymer, we're aligning with international best practice, alongside Australia, New Zealand, and Canada,"
"As Churchill did, we may have to wait a while for the Americans to join up,"

I think the Mericans would have a melt down if they introduced polymer notes and god forbid they had different colours for each denomination

Banknotes???
Oh those things that are dispensed by ATMs
Rarely use the stuff.
Got my first Visa Debit card in 1987 at Barclays (Barclays Connect).
When did Canada first have those? 2010 wasn't it....Scotiabank only managed to introduce them about two years ago and they still don't usually work online...(click the Visa Debit button and it rejects it saying that it is an Interac card....click the Interac button and it tells you it's a Visa Debit )
What about instantaneous money transfers between banks?

Apparently, the maple leaf depicted on the $20 bill is Norwegian, not the traditional Canadian one.

True
I notice that Mark Carney is also touting that the polymer banknotes can be washed without harm
.......... but they have also given a warning that the notes can stick together, so be careful how much you are handing over.
I remember ours sticking together, and I still take care to ensure that the notes are separate if I'm handing over more than a couple ............. and most bank clerks and sales assistants are doing the same thing!
