Congratulations - you're nearly there We did it all in about 5 weeks (and that included getting the house up for sale) - so can be done - it really does focus you. Good luck

So how's the panicking going today then

Bet you are so excited, both of you and I wish you alll the best with the arrangements over the next three weeks.

I want to know from a straight persons point of view, which one of you two is doing all the work for the immigration process?

It seems to me that in the rest of our straight relationships the majority of the work is done by the wife/female partner

Rob,

Get rid of your cars via - webuyanycar.com. They have a depot in Thurrock. All done by internet and the prices are very good - saves a lot of hassle.

Hey Dago

Thanks for the headsup.
I have both cars on eBay, so if they don't sell in the next week, then that's where I'll go. They offered a bit less than I would have liked, but hey, better than not selling them - so that is one stress less.

Rob.

Well, how do I answer that - OH has had to do all the negotiating with his employers (prompted by me) and of course go to work everyday.

I am self employed, so as I'm at home more I get to do all the fun stuff of organising it all. Also, if I'm honest, I have a slight control issue and like things done right (my way), so I guess it's my own fault really.

You are probably right with women doing the majority of the work with the immigration process as they are more often than not more practiced at multi-tasking - having kept home, brought up sprogs and worked!

So with 2 guys doing our best it's equal to one woman - so what ever you can do we can do.

We are both a bit shell shocked actually, but the excitement is there somewhere - it's been 10 months since we started and have never been sure it would happen. As they say, be careful for what you wish for.

Thank you all for your good wishes, karma and encouragement - that is what we come here for - some understanding from people who know what it is that we are going through and I thank you all for doing exactly what it says on the tin.

I'll be needing more of that and some advice as the next few weeks progress, so thanks for that in advance, you guys are great!

Rob.
