I think it was last winter when we skiing at Sunshine one day .... we were eating lunch in the lodge, .....and the snow came most of the way to the top of the windows, ..... when suddenly a small movement caught our eye.

A little mouse was running up the window on the outside, some 2 foot under the snow! We watched in fascination as it run up and down and along the window ledge. We supposed at the time that it was presumably comparatively warm at that depth, and it probably got some warmth from the building as well. (probably a food source too) We all thought it was cool, but I guess I see how mice could actually take advantage of the deep snow covering for protection from predators, as well as insulation...

You and me both Anne....We came back from a couple of nights in Banff to almost no snow....Yay...we foolishly thought - hubby even making noises about taking the snow tyres off...Looked out two hours or so later to a blizzard which still shows no sign of stopping!!!

Thanks for the weather info Steve...I have been wondering why this winter seems to be worse than any of the others I have been through here...Now I know it actually is!!

No kidding.

Just cruel really! Had just got used to walking dogs in air that was vaguely warm, along paths that had no snow, along roads where you see both kerbs.

Had dared to dream of spring, and colour and summer-like activities. Silly me - I should know better

Pooh

Playing basket ball in the garden yesterday in brilliant sunshine. Took first photo to compare with next day as I had read about a winter storm coming through! It hasnt stopped snowing here all morning and we must have well over a foot by now Really thought we were through the worst (), but wishful thinking really :curse:

hmmm ... yes.

Yesterday morning I was sitting on my deck with the cats, reading my book in the sunshine and feeling HOT!

Temperature fell like a stone during the afternoon. And this morning I dug through a drift to my front door that came well over my knees!

Is winter never coming to an end? Have been feeling really miserable and down of late with various things happening/not happening and the prospect of moving more snow feels like the last straw.

Expecting snow here Sunday, doubt it will last long though considering it was +16 today....

I'll get my coat
