You really think there's anywhere in Canada outside of Nanavut that isn't Americanised??

Culturaly though? Seems a funny comment, I would be hard pushed to tell the difference between Ontario and the US anyway....the license plates are different and the money look funny, thats about it.

Suprised no one has talked about the East Coast though. Loved it there. Small, and rather on the poor side, but the people are fab (and the accents are scrumptious!)

Culturally, Canada tends to look south rather than east or west. Ontario has more in common (just) with New York and the Eastern US sea board than it does with, let's say, Nunavut, or Quebec, or New Foundland. Although, I would be hard pressed to find a monumental difference between BC and Ontario. Hmm. Funny how culture scrambles up here.

"Eh?" is just as common over here as the east ... although I've only ever hear done or two guys use "aboot".
So where in the west have you travelled to? Don't assume BC is like Alberta ...

It's a weird mix I've noticed: Some Canadians are totally clueless about the rest of their own country (and know nothing about England) and others are totally clued in. I find the really young ones are more "American" (language, knowledge of Canada, etc) and don't become "Canadian" until mid-teens to early 20s. Strange.

(and Toronto ain't the top party city either!) They have cow festivals for chrissakes! Alberta is way more right wing in their politics as well (don't know which way you 'swing'). They are more Americanised.
Toronto is more multi-cultural. The city is divided (unofficially) into 'villiages': Greek Village, Chinatown ( 3 of them), Little Italy, Little Portugal, Little India, etc. The restaurants are some of the best in North Amercia.
Jobs. There's more of them in Toronto.
They wear cowboy boots in Calgary. On purpose!

I have never been to Calgary but always fancied it until a friend of mine who spent 6 months living there and said that in all that time it was closed!
