Hi All

Moved to Okotoks AB on Jan the 8th. Settled well. Food more expensive than was lead to believe. Temp warmer than expected, except for the last couple of days minus 30 windchill 41 yesterday, drove to work at minus 29 today, wow takes your breath away.

My question is Where do you get access to watch England rugby internetionals? Satellitte or an internet site would nice .

Thanks all

Try peanuts pub in the Carriage House Inn on 9030 MacLeod trail. 403-253-1101

Setanta is showing the game at 2100 MT. (only carrier in Calgary, but I might be wrong)

(advice) Make sure you phone first to ensure they'll be showing it but considering the games I'm willing to bet it'll be aired.

Yeah, same here. We were in Okotoks for the rodeo there in september in 2004 and visited a family friend there and it seemed nice enough. We move over this summer and may sell our condo and opt for somewhere like Okotoks straight away. I'd be really interested to hear how you've found it.

Have been in Okotoks for 18 months now, and used to commute to Calgary (Foothills area) in about 25 minutes. This is the second winter here and have only had to be careful on the roads about 4 times (Once icy road and then the rest blowing snow). There is not such a busy 'atmosphere' as there is to Calgary. There is a new pub, The George, which is getting more popular by the day. New schools are being built, north and south. There is room to expand. Many of the larger stores are here, Safeway, Sobeys, Walmart, Canadian Tyre etc. Home hardware will be built in the south.

On Elizabeth Street (downtown) there are most of the quaint shops, antiques, flower arrangers, dollar store, chippie, restaurants, post office...a good mix for Okotoks.

Construction of new homes is, to the south, Westmount, and to the east in Cimmaron, Drakes Landing, Crystal Ridge (around the golf course) and some in Crystal Shores.

The town has 2 golf courses, an 18 and a 9 hole, 2 mens soccer teams that play in the Calgary league and 2 'minor' hockey teams. Within the schools, there appear to be many sports activities to keep kids occupied, and on the whole I have found the behaviour of teenagers to be quite pleasant in this area. There is more to this town so just ask.
