I will post here my experience for what it is worth. I drove buses in Edinburgh Scotland. I now work for CMBC in Burnaby. Had to sit the class 2 test over here and learn to drive trolley buses. It was easier however with the driving experience I had. Trolley work was a bit more challenging but diesel bus was no problem. Seniority based work was the real difference as I was on a set rota back home so did not have to sign work in order of seniority.

Do you have to commit to getting a job with them or can you just go and learn to drive a bus? I’ve got a week off soon and it doesn’t look like my new outboards will be installed by then so I thought learning to drive a bus might be fun alternative to get me out of the house

No you commit to being an employee. They are not going to pay for your training for a laugh. You could try privately but have to fund it yourself.
