So, for example - insurance for an average, couple-of-years-old, saloon ? I've heard quotes from about $750 up to $2000 a year - that's a big difference - I would pay about £280-300 in the UK for being a boring, no recent crashes, kind of person.

Someone has mentioned newer cars are alot more ? Is that 'newer' or 'brand new' ? (Like the UK presumably, and we have never been able to afford a brand new car here ! )

We are looking at Alberta - Calgary ish.
