Congratulations, I bet you are soooo excited. My husband and I have just started what I am sure is going to be a long drawn out process to emigrate to Calgary, so I'll be looking out for your posts to update on how you're getting one.

Hi Mandy,
My husband is just filling in the application for Calgary police - he's a copper over here with 5 years under his belt, so hopefully they'll be interested! We're now in the process of trying to think of 10 people who aren't family or connected with his work to give as personal references...and we thought we wouldn't have to tell anyone at this early stage
I know we've got a long way to go but I am finding this site incredibly helpful - already clued up on flying out the dogs, had a good look at real estate, been checking out monster.ca to see what kind of work I can get....all I can say is he'd better get the job!!
I really do wish you loads of luck, it must be a strange mix of excitement, abject fear and a little sadness at leaving?

Awww wow, congrats to you all. I am sure you will have a great life out in Calgary. I was there many years ago, but only for 2 short months.
I cant wait to be at the stage that you are. I bet it is a great feeling.
All the best.

Book B&B called Tuxedo House just North of the River. 21st St or something like that. Very nice, close enough to the center and cheap.
For car I always go for Enterprise. I compared charges several times in the past and they always coem out on top.

The problem i have had is they dont have 2 double beds in a room so they want me to pay for 2 rooms which is obviously double
I,ll try that one though and tell you how i get on,thanks

Here is a great 'to do' list someone posted in here earlier. It looks to start with but feels great when the boxes are all getting checked off. Hope it helps.
