Hi
Is there much of a biker scene in Alberta? Calgary area in particular!
Both my husband and I ride (not as much as we'd like since parenthood), but also enjoy the social side - rallies, runs out, club meets etc!
Can't waite to cruise those mountain roads!

My boyfriend and I both ride, but you lose the motorcycle entitlement on your licence when you swap it for the Alberta Driving licence. We're looking at taking our tests over here, when the weather warms up a bit!!

There seems to be a pretty good bike scene, especially around Bragg Creek in the good weather.

We were looking aroung longview in Sept and the place was swarming with bikers off down highway 40.

Oh god. Images of the bulldog bash and patriot games are starting to flash before my eyes. Not that I went to either but have plenty of friends who did.

We were more of the 'Magna Carta' sort ourselves,
, though we did do 'Crazy Daze' and the 'Kent custom' a couple of years running about 14 years ago. Now we go as a family on trike & bike, and are content with the much smaller rallies such as the 'Lion' rally at Reading, and the 'Over the edge' rally on the Isle of wight. Fantastic weekends away with a great social side and good live music/entertainment for the evenings. I just can't imagine that the biking atmosphere is anything like the experiences and comaraderie that we have had here, what with all the small clubs that are going and the number of rallies that are organised every weekend throughout the year, plus the huge number of bikers in a relatively small area in comparison to alberta too. Certainly we haven't seen or heard of anything like what we are used to here, going on over on Vancouver Island, and we spend 6 weeks of summer there when we do go.
We would like to think that we will find something similar but I ain't holding my breath!

We love it all from the Bulldog to the BMF to the Euro Demo's. OH of to Wales next weekend to the Dragon rally (must be nuts, personally I don't do camping in Feb).
Bit of a bummer about licences tho! Has any one taken the alberta bike test?
Whats it like?
