Bike Trailers

In a vague attempt at enjoying the outdoors during the summer we've bought a bike each and I'm now researching bike trailers to put our almost 3 yr old in. Not looking at spending more than $250............any recommendations out there?

Check your local Kijiji, or yard sales etc.

Dont pay a premium to buy a new one, they come up gently used pretty often, for a lot less money.

I've been keeping an eye out, but I'm not sure what sort to get and was wondering if people have any recommendations

Basically two sorts....lightweight and the rest (steel).

Whats best depends what you intend doing. For pootling around in "regular" terain it probably wont make much difference to anything but your wallet, but for more strenuous activity you probably dont want to be towing a beefy steel one up too many hills.

Comfort for the occupants, and stability would be the main factors outside of weight. We borrowed one from a friend, but neither kid likes the sensation of being in it, (too low to the ground and a bit claustrophobic) so just as well we didnt buy anything in the end.

Definitely just regular terrain (you missed an 'r'), miles and miles of cycle paths in Calgary so we are hoping to cover some of them.

Do you know anyone you could borrow one from?

I edited my last post to say neither of our kids liked the sensation, so we are glad we borrowed one rather than paying for a large garage paperweight.

BS,

1) There maybe miles and miles of cycle paths BUT they arent all paved (or actually wide enough for a trailer)

2) if you want to borrow it I have Lori Beatties book on the best rides/trails.
