Beware GB Liners

I had quotes from several companies for removals including GB Liners. The guy who came seemed ok but the price he submitted was more than another removal firm. I went with another company (Robinsons). Suddenly the sales guy turned into a complete nightmare ringing my home phone and mobile several times a day leaving messages becoming increasingly annoyed and aggressive in tone wanting to know why they had not got the business and what they could do. I signed a piece of paper to get a quote that he said just accepted the terms for them to quote but at this point he said that piece of paper meant unless I called him back I would be charged for the move whether I booked with them or not.
I finally emailed the regional manager who was great and stopped the calls. I know times are hard and I admire sales people for trying but there is a fine line between selling and intimidating and I felt personally GB Liners guy crossed it.
Lessons learned:
1. Don't sign anything just to get a quote
2. Be firm and escalate quickly when you get hassled
Hope this helps others

You've made a good choice with Robinson's, I used them a couple of years ago and the service was very good at both ends.

Agree with the above poster we used the Manchester branch of GB Liners and they were fantastic. Sounds like that sales guy was a bit desperate to meet targets! Not sure why you'd need to sign anything for a quote!
