All the pillow shams that I have looked at have kind of a slit across the middle of the back where you shove the pillow in. Maybe I am looking at the cheap shops!
I have bought PROPER pillow cases here, in sets from the Bay and Sears, but it is hit and miss. Ask for sets to be opened, staff here are SO accommodating and don't go into a flap about opening stuff (sorry about the pun!)
OR.................they are so easy to make even if you are a beginner.

Well I've just looked at the Sears catalogue and they don't sell them there...if you find them in Regina can you shout coz I don't want to drive all that way for nothing. Rather interestingly we at our little motel use what I would call a pillowcase over the pillow then encase that in what's been called a sham. So far so good.....except we then fold the sham inwards to make a pillowcase :scared:
how bizzare is that?

I too brought my UK bedding with me as I'd just bought some rather expensive stuff. The fitted sheets don;t. The duvet cover doesn't. the curtains only drape half way down the windows. My advice is....dump them or give them to charity and simply start all over again.....hmm..how familiar!

Thanks for all your replies. We have a uk king size bed so from what you've told me Canadian queen should fit. The other alternative is to buy a few new sets of bedding and bring it with us, at least we'll all have beds for the first few years, and won't have to fork out for new ones. Or we might just keep them for guests (hoping we'll get some).
Thanks Jo xx
