The Beastie's Have Landed
After 4 years and 3 months we've finally made it to Canada. Arrived at Fredericton NB yesterday at 4pm local time and finally finished the process of landing at 5.30pm. Got stuck behind 4 young independent travellers who were grilled by the immigration officer which held us up.
Something of an anti climax, having the black line drawn through our shiny visa's but we did get a "welcome to canada" and 'hope you settle in well" from the immigration officer which was nice.
Having a quiet day today after the bedlam of the last week but will sort out SIN and look around a bit. Still not sure if we will be staying or returning to the UK until our youngest completes his GCSE's but will be looking for jobs etc and if it comes together then it comes together, if not then we have plenty of time to return. No longer have what we do dictated to us by the long immigration process, it's now all up to us which in itself is a relief and very nice to know. Staying in Fredericton for a while before eventually making our way to Nova Scotia. Looking for jobs in both provinces and having a good look around to see where we finally want to end up.
Looking forward to meeting up with Dave, Jules and the girls later today and any other expats attending the newcomers evening on Saturday. That's all for now, very jet lagged so going to collapse in a heap until the boys wake up.

Welcome to Canada!
I may be getting mixed up, but I have a recollection of a medical issue that may have been a deal breaker. If my memory about that is correct, you must have been relieved to make it past the gate keepers.
All the best with the job hunt.

Hi Lynne, John and the other beasties,
Welcome to Fredericton and congratulations on getting over the PR hurdle. It is probably more like beeches brook on aintree now rather than a hurdle.
It was good to meet you earlier, and we will see you later at the Harness racing.
Sinurt is your OH coming over to the Southside for a flutter on the GeeGees?
