Hi. Joined the forum yesterday. Went to vancouver over Christmas...it rained every day, but still thought it was awesome.
More work further East and cheaper housing, so unless I win the lottery, think I'll go to Toronto. Hoping to get a transfer with my firm at some point.
I think I'll be homesick, and will miss my friends and family when I go, but I seriously worry this country is going down the toilet, and the sooner I get out the better.
Started process 1 year ago, so still got a while to wait, unless my company comes through for me.

Hello and welcome to BE
Looks as though you could be quite lucky if your company also has a branch out in Canada. That would be easier if that happened.
Hope everything works out for you.

Cheers, me too. My company is a global monster and they happily allow movement between countries. A friend of mine just got a job in Oz internally through them, so I want to do the same in a year or two's time for Canada.
Good luck with your move to Calgary, I dated a girl just before Christmas who got a job offer in Calgary and they sorted her visa in no time...unfortunately she didn't want to take me with her

Hi & welcome to BE.
For me it was an easy decision, I was only ever interesting in moving to Vancouver. It all depends what you're moving here for. We moved to BC for the more relaxed lifestyle & access to skiing & the mountains....
Yes, Toronto has cheaper housing & probably better job opportunities. If thats what you're after then it's a better choice. There are plenty of good jobs here though, and we live well. I'd probably be better off financially in Toronto, or for that matter virtually anywhere in the USA. But you won't find me moving!
Good luck in your decision.
