Bankers Draft problems
Has anyone else had as much bother getting a bankers draft for their TWP application? My bank here in Holland, ING Bank, don't issue drafts, cashiers cheques or personal cheques at all. The other main Dutch banks are not interested if you do not have an account. :curse:
No problem, I will call my mother and get her to get a bankers draft in CAD and send it to me. NO, She would have to fill in forms, which are sent to head office, once they receive them it takes 10-14 working days to process, then it has to be posted to me ( and the Dutch postal service is notoriously slow). My own UK bank is a similar process. Fortunately I have a savings account with Barclays in Jersey, they will only issue a Draft if I apply in writing, (more postage time) although they do promise to process and issue the Draft within 24 hours, so it looks like my only option.
Sorry for the rant, keeping my money in a biscuit tin under the bed seems more appealing every day!

I remember we had to order our bank draft - took about 5 days as the bank insisted they had to prepare it and send it by post!

Re: Bankers Draft problems
It's easy in Canada. Walk into your local branch and a draft will be issued on the spot. $5.00 service charge.
I don't suppose that helps much.

Lloyds TSB took a few days but we could collect it from our branch. Not as cheap as Canada to buy though

According to this you can make an IBAN transfer to their account with Deutsche Bank:

Re: Bankers Draft problems
If you know someone in Canada could you ask them to get you a draft and then courier it to you? This was an option that I was considering if I couldn't get a draft from Nationwide.
