Can you pls tell me which is a good bank for newly landed immigrant in toronto or vancouver.

Canada has 5 major national banks and a few minor banks.
Best value for money comes from the minor banks, like Presidents Choice Financial,
but they are a "no official branch" bank. They have agents in Loblaws Grocery stores
to help you. I would change to one of these maybe after setttling in.
It's often a matter of personal choice, although I've been very happy with the CIBC.
Some banks seem to charge a lot more in bank charges ... more than others. TD and
Royal seem to fall in that category.
The best piece of advice I can give you ... whatever bank you chose, go to a
smaller branch ... not one in a large shopping centre. You'll get better and more
personal service.
