Wow. If you ever return you're going to have a massive road tax bill to pay, you realise if you don't notify the DVLA of change of owner you're liable whether you sold it/dumped it or not?! Not to mention any parking and speeding offences committed in the vehicle since. And possibly the towing fee if it was removed by the police.

Edit: wait, don't tell me, it was never registered to you in the first place!

I don't think I registered it. I only had it six months or so. I bought it from this guy, Jeff, I knew from work. He had massive debts and was desperate for cash. A few years later he turned up in Toronto carrying a one piece cue and a small bag, that's all; he'd fled the debt collectors. A few weeks later he had a nice apartment, expensive stereo, etc. etc. all on Visa. Eventually debt collectors were chasing him here. At the time Air Canada were offering hardship bonuses for people willing to work in Winnipeg so he took a job there, that's the last I saw of him. Perhaps the DVLA are chasing him around Montana.

Edit : thinking about it, we brought the plates and the VIN thing. I still had the plates two "wives" ago.

A sneaky Kia dig and a blatant Winnipeg one before coffee break, you're in fine form this morning

Look at the "Why, dear God, go to Oakville" thread, on that one I tried.

The Kia comment really wasn't intended as a dig. And, in fact, I don't have any opinion about Winnipeg as I haven't been there, there's some chance of going this August but we'll see, it's a long drive.

And there was me thinking I'd been singled out for special attention. I won't flatter myself next time
