Re: Which authorities
The child benefit people.
We went to Steinbach a few weekends ago. It was not like I'd imagined it to be and in the end we decided against stopping. But it's probably a nice place to live, there just seemed to be not much for tourists despite their "It's worth the trip" license plates ;) |

Re: Which authorities
What would be the advantage of telling the authorities that you've left ?
We just drove to the airport and left the car there with the keys in it. We thought that telling the government we had left would just complicate matters if we went back. |
Re: Which authorities
On reflection, I don't really see the need to tell doctors and dentists. The first lot won't come looking for you and the second lot will eventually get tired of sending you reminders.
Maybe a good rule of thumb would be: "does this involve money?" |

On a rainy Sunday we went out for a drive, came into Steinbach by a different route and the town was surprisingly large. and we found all the shops ( closed on Sundays very religious area) MacDonald's was open, saw some people praying before tucking in. The town is a dry ( no booze sold in city borders) has large Car and farm sales, but is mainly the centre of a large Mennonite community. Hope you enjoy your trucking George if it doesn't work out with them TransX is hiring. Met a couple from Scotland that have come over to work for them and apparently they are looking for 60+ drivers. |
