Hi all
I have now been in Nova Scotia for two days. I stayed at a B+B in Dartmouth for first two nights, which was lovely and the owners were both wonderful people and very helpful. Helped me rent a car and get cell phone to work, at least for people to call me, as i cannot call out to UK on it, as too expensive to make international calls from cell so it is blocked (according to man in Rodgers anyway).
I rented a nice car and managed to drive through Dartmouth and up on the 102 to Truro, where i arrived today, and despite my panicking about this, it was fine. You just have to pay attention and concentrate on the left and right turnings etc and watch for pedestrians, as they have a habit, i have found, of walking straight out in front without any warning!!!
I have a few meetings set up with Margot @CORDA and with the local hospital/health authority. I have also got to arrange a meeting with another lady regarding a Medical Transcription position, which i applied for. So will let you all know how that goes.
I met some people from the Forum in Halifax on Monday, Val50, Tuppence and Saw04 with baby Charlotte, who is the cutest thing and a few others (cannot remember forum names sorry) and they were all very nice and helpful - so huge thank you to all.
Will keep you up-dated as i go on an dlet you all know how things pan out. By for now
That's it for now

Hi Canada Dreams
I am currently working as a Medical Secretary in the UK. So am looking for jopbs in this area initially, however i will be looking for any kind of secretarial/PA/administrative type positions. Although this may have to wait until i have PR. I am not going to limit myself job wise to just medical secretary positions.
I have just read in the local newspaper (the chronicle herald) that the province is going to be training or hiring a lot more new doctors and nurses and where they are they will need administrative/secretarial support so you never know, it might work out well.
Anyway, thanks and will speak to you all soon.

Good luck with interviews, do make the most of your time, see areas, enjoy and take in the laid back attitudes, you'll look back at this time fondly once you are here for real.
Again, I find myself saying that this (us emigrating to Newfoundland), is the best thing we have ever done in our lives.
