Default Applying for plumbing jobs

Hello everyone

Could you please help??? We have seen loads of plumbing jobs advertised throughout Canada - can we go ahead and apply even though we are UK citizens? Do we have to get a TWP or will employers consider us as foreign workers?
We are fairly new to this game and we don't particularly want to wait years for a PR permit, so any advice at all would be gratefully appreciated!

Thanks

Catherine

Hi

you can apply for the job as a UK citizen, however in order for the company to employ you they will in the first instance ( for the majority of jobs) have to obtain a LMO which is basically a certificate to say that the job has been advertised for x period of time and they have not found a suitable applicant and that the job offer to you meets certain requirements.

There are some variations to this, for example jobs that are listed as in demand, I think have less time to advertise a job, and there are some instances where companies have already been able to secure some LMO's in advance.

You will need the LMO in order to obtain a Temporary work permit.

So in the first instance you need to find employment and then go from there.

here is a link to the wiki which gives lots more info re the TWP

Good luck
