Have you ever been there? I've been there, that part of the country is beautiful. Naturally, a small, isolated town like Whitehorse isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's no gulag. I met people who had lived there for about 1 year (moved from Montreal), and they absolutely loved the place.

By the way, I don't remember seeing any drunk Indians when I was there (or in Yellowknife either).

If you wanted to leave blightly and become a diamond miner, Yellowknife is the place to go. FYI, Yellowknife is the center of largest diamond mining bonanza in the history of the world.

Baked Beans in that special Maple Syrup sauce! I love it and am going to have to export some back to the UK on my next trip home. What a beautiful invention! It makes that 'recovery hour' after a night at the pub, that much better when its beans on toast time.
