Is it a pre-emigration scouting mission? Where will you be visiting?

as to location, we were thinking of Guelph near toronto, but we're still undecided! We have family in Brampton, so hopefully not too far from them.
I'm still getting my head around the distances though, and to think that I winge when I visit the outlaws in Bedford!
it depends on what my job prospects will be.
Meeting with Ray the moderator (gentleman and scholar), and he has given us lots of valuable info regarding not just where to live but other matters.
really looking forward to this trip, my only regret is thatin the two weeks, we will hardly touch the surface of the country.
Take care.

Hello there,
Brampton as one of your options? Yes its very multicultural, more than Essex is, if that is what you are looking for, but my only concern is that, its getting bigger popln wise, which means housing is more expensive for the size you are getting. There is the occassional gang wars, but its closer to TO.
Guelph as you might or might not know, is further west with a popln of 110k. If you are only looking at those two areas, then 2 weeks is enough to scout, but not enough to sight see and see other areas.
Good luck

Good luck; I hope your trip is productive - and with luck you'll have time to enjoy yourself too!

Thanks for your tip MickJ, although to be honest, I had already decided against Brampton.
My children wear turbans, and my biggest concern is to find an area where they won't encounter any hostility when they go to school, as I had a terribly time when I was at school myself in the East End.
I was looking for somewhere semi-rural yet near to good schools.
I have seriously been considering setting up my own small scale renovation company as I can do most trades, and I am a Building Surveyor by profession. if worst come to worst, we thought about buying a small business outright so that we can have a regular income without the hastle of worrying about jobs.
Thanks to both you and Calgary for your help.
Take care

Hello there,
There is a large what we call "Asian" in the UK community there, and that is one of the beauties of it, am able to get my sweets and other stuffs for cooking there. Asian as you might know here in canada, refers to chinese and japanese people. At the end of the day, they are all from the same continent.
