Just stick it in your suit case and no one will know.
Christ, I'm planning on asking the in-laws to put a small cool bag in theirs so they can bring me some sausages! |

Re: anyone had problems bringing in BISTO
I got a bollocking yesterday by an immigration official yesterday for missing out a section on my landing card. I didn't have anything to declare ('ish), so I left it blank. Naughty, naughty, naughty. I can't imagine what they do to someone with a pound of chipolatas.

Much depends on the officer you find yourself in front of. I try to avoid women, particularly Asian ones. I've idea why it is but they seem to be the most officious and little-Hitlerish. |

Nope. When they were over in October they brought a huge bag of PG Tips. Almost filled one suit case by itself!
Meat and any meat products are NOT. And if they don't declare it, let's hope the sniffer dogs are not working that day  Seriously - don't .... |
Re: anyone had problems bringing in BISTO
ann m is correct they do have sniffer dogs trained for meat (as well as more exotic substances), I've seen one in action in St John's.
If you do get caught the products will be confiscated, you may be fined, and you will be searched every time you enter Canada for the next 5 years. My wife has 3 local butchers who make the 6 varieties of British Sausages, Pork Pies and Bacon she sells, so if you ask around your area you may find a Butcher who can help you. |
Re: anyone had problems bringing in BISTO
I've been 'sniffed' the last two times I have come into Canada ;)
