Gosh what a lot of ex's. Hopefully we will be too one day!
Went out with a colleague and her partner last night and it's so frustrating keeping our plans a secret so that the boss doesn't find out (she wouldn't see the funny side! )

We're in Surrey for now and we're both totally the same regarding keeping it quiet from work.

I've just been given a new contract with a pretty big raise with the understanding i will be around for a minimum of 1 year and preferably 2. I couldn't tell them i was looking to emigrate in the next 5 - 6 months.

My wife is the same. Promo at work starting in February and can't let on that it'll be very short term.

We are on a strictly -need to know- basis too although our bosses are aware that we have applied because of asking for references for the file.

A close friend went through the process and emigrated last March. Seeing how many 'Do you know how cold it is?' comments she got, we have decided to remain quiet!

I found the two most irritating questions/comment were of the .... 1) Why Canada/What's in Canada? and 2) Have you heard yet/I thought you said you were going to Canada.....!? type

...... oh yes, and "Have you sold your house yet?" ..... THAT gets damn irritating too after a few months! I mean .... don't you think I might have SAID???

I blabbed to everyone who would listen right from the start though ... so I guess I got what was coming!
