My wife is ITEC trained in Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology and it means absolutely nothing. If she want's to practise as a therapist not only will she have to take training and exams that she's already covered but she will also have to take new subject's such as kinesiology as they include that as part of the syllabus over here. You can however get a job in a spa as that is un-regulated. The problem is that most people's health insurance will cover them for a certain number of massages per year, but only with a registered practioner.
If you have the time and the cash ( you have to pay all your fee's up front ) then it will be worth it as people here think quite highly of therapist's over here.
Hope this helps
Tim

I should have added that it will also depend on where you are planning to live. Ontario and BC are heavily regulated but the other provinces less so. You may also be able to get financial assistance to retrain but again that will depend on the province you choose to live in

hi ya , i am not too sure about the holistic side of things (as i did beauty therapy ) , plus it differs province to province ,
i got some info when i was over last time and from what i was told you need to sit your red seal to prove you are competant etc....
its a bit of a pain but am sure its worth doing , maybe email some local colleges where you will be moving to and see if they can help ,
hope you get sorted dee xxx
