ha ha ha.......(nervous, histerical laughter)
we're in exactly the same boat......but were here in vancouver......
i got the house in the UK alarmed to the hilt, insured to within an inch of it's life and just moved over.......
it will eventually sell (we have a potential buyer as i type......3rd time lucky)......then we'll have some money to buy a house here......
just do it, is my advice.....costs nothing more than money, right.......

1/ I will lose £'s on the recent renos I have done
2/ I am disappointed at the current valuation (even in todays expected market)
3/ My mortgage is in a tie in and I will have to pay back £4k
4/ Housing market is picking up slightly and predicted a 25% increase by 2013 (right )
5/ To sell and take money from the house accross the pond will lose£££'s in crap exchange rate
6/ I believe in certain parts of canada house prices have peaked and are falling.....I dont want to buy and find myself in negative equity in a year or two.
So, I intend to rent my UK house and rent in canada, then just watch what happens. This is just my personal opinion and probably wont apply to most or even appeal to most.........but for your consideration.
