hi,
just want to know if theres any plumbers that have emmigrated to canada(especially calgary). that can give me any advice regarding how different the job is over there(methods etc) and any info on the red seal test (heard its way harder than our nvq's) or just your experience as a whole in making the swap.i remember there was an interview in emmigrate magazine a few months ago with a couple who moved to calgary and he was a plumber but cant remember if his email was on it?seriously though any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
Read through my posts and see what my hub came up against in NS, buy the study material, try to get qualified before you actually emigrate (easier said than done), and while you are doing all that arrange a trip in the middle of a Canadian winter and decide if you can work in sub zero temps starting at the beginning of your trade...

now you are getting it...
C&G wont count for squat over here, you need to challenge and pass the red seal exam.

is everything that you need for alberta..
You will find that you will need to challenge the exam to get the red seal certificate
Each trade has its standards, but if you have a employer they should be able to help, i know a few that have come over to calgary and they challenged the exam within the first 6mths of being here.
Good Luck
