Even in a Canadian context I think siding, especially vinyl siding, is down market and rather suburban; you don't have to have very big dreams to want brick or logs or whatever. Jewel encrusted siding is the sort of thing a rap star would have around the house holding the Hennessy, Kristal and Maybach.
