Re: Air Transit
Used Air Transat a number of times now for the UK - Canada and visa versa trip. Seats are crap...little leg room and as uncomfortable as hell...but we get what we pay for I guess. Always try and get Thomas Cook flifgts if possible...seats are far superior...even change my plans a little to fly them rather than Transat! Can't speak for Thomas Cooks other flights...as in other than trans atlantic....

We have just come back from a trip to Calgary 20/07/08 till 03/08/08 we went for two weeks we went with Air Transat and they were very good.
I would recommend them. I think they are all the same company, Tompson, Canadian Affair and Air Transat. We had great leg room, my husband it 6 foot 7 and even he didn't have a problem. Even the food wasn't too bad, and I hate plane food.
I'm not sure though if they change the planes when winter kicks in due to the winter sports holiday makers. Cram them all in with less leg room.
Hope this helps.

Re: Air Transit
Transat only have A310s and A330s. They used to have L1011 tristars (my mum had a "wonderful" experience flying across the atlantic on one of those!!)

Re: Air Transit
I fly air transat all the time and they are fine the only problem I have found and its a big problem for me was on my last flight in June to the UK and on return they served a really hot spicy curry for the in flight meal the smell was just dreadful and it was not suitable for children.

Re: Air Transit
I found AirTransat much more comfortable than zoom. We have just flown Zoom in the premium economy and the seat was the most uncomfortable I have ever used on a plane. Last year flew with AirTransat and found the flight to be a good experience.

Re: Air Transit
We have travelled several times to Canada, Thomas Cook and Air transat (Canadain Affair) were rubbish, poor luggage allowance, poor service, no food or drinks...We would always recommend Air canada, great luggage allowance fab hand luggage allowance, great service....in my view you get what you pay for!

The promotional code is children2008 all you have to do is book before 31st August.
I have put all the details on a thread.
We flew with canadian affair earlier this month, had no problems with staff etc but found the food YUK. We requested children's meals which I think were worse. Take your own food and all would be ok.....did on return journey. Also the only drinks that are free is water. We had to pay for all other drinks including soft.
Hope this helps
