We found them really good , no probs at all with Air Transat or Thomas Cook Airlines.
Other people have had problems, but I think in this day and age problems could occur with any airline, if it is a good price I would go for it

I have flown with Air transit and had no problems. They are just as good as most other airlines. Enjoy your flight!!

Re: Air Transit
They are a charter airline not scheduled. Seem to have more problems than the likes of BA, but cost less. From my own experience (one and only time, walking is a better option), long delays and extended stopovers.
They have been known to run out of fuel too, but then so have Air Canada.

They are a Canadian charter airline. They fly Airbus 310 and 330 aircraft.

Re: Air Transit
Personally I always fly BA (who mostly fly Boeing), collect the club miles and then get additional flights or upgrades.

Re: Air Transit
Getting off topic here but still.
As smooth as the flight was, the overhead TV screens did not shake for a milli second the entire flight over. It was cramped for space (and I know airlines are responsible for their own configurations) and the seats were horrible. It was also very loud in comparison to 777 and even 747.
Even the crappy old MD11 on KLM was a better flight. (I will avoid the MD80 like the plague).
On a different note. Are you a member of flyertalk.net

Re: Air Transit
I'd certainly go for it if they're offering a good price. They're certainly no worse than anyone else, with the exception of BA, from my experience. Whichever airline you fly with you can have problems. Last time I flew Air Canada thinking that it would be better than Charter airlines, but was totally wrong - we spent the whole flight in darkness, due to a blown fuse!
In my experience, the only airline you need to be wary of on the UK-Calgary route is Thomas Cook. Even they are OK, as long as you make sure that you don't have a window seat and preferably have an aisle seat!

Re: Air Transit
it's like chosing between plague and cholera. It all depends on what you want. I know that with the amount of luggage I carry flying low cost airlines like Air Transat I will end up paying more at the end of the day when the excess fees are added up than I would flying with Air Canada, KLM, BA or anyone else. I had 20 kilo carry on luggage in two bags and maxed out on 23kilo per checked suitcase (2 cases) on my way out. With a low cost airline I would have been very restricted on allowance and stung bad on the excess and a more expensive travel.
