AIP letter??
Hi everyone,
My husband's application began processing March 12, 2002. We are still awaiting AIP, quite anxiously. It was mentioned that there could be delay due to training for new regulations? I would really appreciate any information on the expected time we will have to wait. Hubby is really anxious to get working, and his grandparent is quite ill so needs to make a trip to the US as soon as possible. We would prefer to have AIP so that re-entry is more assured, especially since we have two young children and one on the way...can't afford to risk being separated!!
Thanks everyone

Re: AIP letter??
it's really hard to say, the times can vary depending how busy they are and on the
individual case. Inland ones have been quite quick recently from what i have seen
however with the new regs a lot of places are slowing down as peopel are being
trained and transition things etc. I know the preferable time is like 3 months to
AIP then another 3 months to PR making a deisred 6 months processing time, but they
do say the whole things can take longer up to 10 months+. Really you just have to
wait, it's awful but its just part of the whole immigration thing. im waiting for my
AOR then medical forms but no matter how frustrating it is not being able to just go
live with my wife in Canada, there is nothing we can do to make it faster you just
have to wait.
