About time I introduce myself
Been lurking for a while and then posting so about time I introduce myself.
Female going on 42 who lived in Toronto for 4 months at the age of 18. I fell in love with the place before the plane touched down.
20 years later I returned for a week. Before touchdown I recognised buildings. slept all of two hour in the hotel downtown and took a walk directly after breakfast. It was as if I had never left. Shops were new, some buildings gone but I still found my way around as if I was on radar or built in GPS. Back in UK all my friends noticed that I was a completely different person. Much happier, much more relaxed. No wonder. I felt as if I had found the missing piece of myself when I got over there.
Been back another 3 times after that trip and with each trip the determination to live, work and eventually have a Canadian passport is growing. As far as I am concerned I am Canadian and I need to come home.
I work in IT and music industry. I do websites and marketing for bands and I'm also an old roadie with a truck license (HGV 1). And I am single with no kids.
Any advice from anyone here will be greatly appreciated. At some point I hope we can all meet over there.

Welcome to our site.
Feel exactly the same when I land and Calgary - have been going over for 15 years !
Also have the same experiences with being able to find my way around and being able to drive the 2.5 hour trip from Calgary to my friends house in Lethbridge without the aid of a map exactly from memory.

Hi,know what ya mean about places still looking the same.may it be scotland or canada
we still love them both.my other half is a tucker anall,he loves the open roads.

I Know what you mean sometimes you know where you fit and im afraid that never has been the UK for me glad someone else feels the same Have you checked out the CIC website to see what you need for initial lodging of your application
