Farmers are bitching - but that's par for the course
I'm not sure how to address it, but farmers here (and abroad) get shafted by the supermarket giants. Look at the price of milk, for example - it's cheaper than spring water.

Regional pricing does apply - perhaps more so in regional areas as opposed to the cities.

For example, our strawberries are twice the price but I'm still happy, due to distance you might think but further out west can often be cheaper. I suspect pricing is nominated by lack of alternatives!

I saw them for 45c a punnet last weekend.

There's a new Aldi just opened down the hill from here and their locally grown, 99c/punnet are delicious

There's a pick your own place up in Bullsbrook that was doing up to 5kg for $10

Yeah, it was a side of the road farm stall type board with that price on. Not in a supermarket. Still a good price.
