So there I was, happily moved from Singapore to Australia and, unlike you lot, thinking how cheap everything is.
And then I go back to the UK for a short visit and, in between eating shedloads of bananas, I can't help but notice (because now I'm looking) how damn cheap everything in the supermarkets is. Ignorance WAS bliss you buggers
(I had 9kg of luggage going, 45kg coming back. Unfortunately none of it was bananas.)

Anything over 1 and a half a day and you are dicing with death.
Even one big one is the equivalent of 14 fags a day.

Half of M+S, big chunk of Asda kids' department, a rug (!), cushions, throw (just as well, t'was a bit nippy this morning), bedding, a load of Thomas the Tank Engine track and stuff from e-bay. Oh, and 3 plastic jugs for 35p each from Asda to swill out baths with - for some reason I couldn't find any here!
I'd better enjoy it before I die from banana-induced heart attack

M&S isn't what it used to be. Wife was very upset at the lack of natural fibres when we were there over Xmas.

Well we did say it was cheaper back there
I miss Asdas (use to work in the George department) & M&S although that's more for their food hall & chocolate covered fudge

(I got round the luggage problem by giving The Geek all my winter clothes as he came straight home.)

The less affluent crim will attempt it pea-less with celery but this, as we know, is doomed to failure and embarrassment in the dock.

He's still doomed to failure though as as it's considered a petit-pois crime.

Can't wait for my shopping trip now - trying to work out how little i can get away with taking without having to go sort of naked until I get chance to get to the shops. Have also priced up how much it is to box stuff up and post it back - what with the cheapness of it all and the benefit of the exchange rate I reckon I can buy twice my weight in clobber and still be quids in!

(Til I get the CC bill that is.)
Anybody want anything???
