Alcohol dependency is probably a bit strong for the kinds of people this test is aimed at 'outing'. I like to have a drink on a weekend when I'm not up for work next morning but I don't get the shakes and sweats when I don't have one. I was on 24-hr call the week before last and was happily dry for 8 days. Therefore I'm note an alcoholic.
AFIK an alcoholic is someone who can't go without a drink without some side-effects - the shakes, cold sweats or whatever. An alcoholic will be at work waiting for the clock to reach 5 (or whatever) so they can get out and crack a bottle. Or possibly they won't go to work because they haven't sobered up from the night before and will have another bottle for brekky.
This survey is endemic of modern life. There are so many people out there who's job it is to analyse and cure us, they spend their time trying to brand everybody as something or other to justify their existence.

I was just stating what a crap survey it was, though posting it here does throw up (sic) some interesting questions on people's attitudes to drink.

I agree with all that say it is crap.
I only posted it as a laugh and as said before it is classic American therapy. I personally have not taken it seriously.
