Hey, thats great mate. Hope you haven't started smoking again as I have not read all the posts.

Never understood smoking tobacco as it seems to have no 'benefits'.

I don't drink or smoke but Alan Carr needs to do a book about giving up cake...

Cooler

Trust me, the smoking has been stamped out for good

Alan Carr wrote did write a book to help with dieting but I don't think he would have as much success in persuading me that I'm a reluctant slave to choccie cake. ....Nah, it wouldn't work But this might.

Noticed this

Allen Carr was diagnosed with lung cancer in the summer of 2006 and died in November of the same year. Many thought it likely that the years he spent curing smokers in smoke-filled sessions at his clinics must have contributed to this illness, but Allen Carr remained positive, 'Given that I am informed that I have cured at least 10 million smokers on a conservative estimation, it's a price worth paying.'

It could also be that he was on about 100/day before stopping, either way I think he was a decent age.

Someone posted a chart or list of the benefits of being tobacco free, which detailed the benefits over hours, days, weeks and years i.e. after x days your system is free of toxins to after x years your risk of developing cancer are reduced by x%.

Anyone have it?

Wow, after reading that I've realised I've wasted the last 9 years, I'm off to buy a pack and recommence immediately!

Well done you!! I too stopped after reading his book. I tagged a couple of pages and if I had a craving I would read the paragraphs that made me realise what a numpty I was smoking in the first place!! Worked a treat, and I am now 9 months down the line. Apart from weight gain, feel great!! Hubby just started again after 4 months off them! Can't stand the stink off him......
After 2 years of trying, this was definitely the final time!

I had one of those along with 3 months supply of patches a couple of years ago. It ended up in the bin along with the patches.
