Makes us feel better having an excuse, less guilty... And procrastinating ... Thats enjoyable... You cant talk to just ANYONE about what game yer up to... So cant be saying this to .... Ummmm.... Real people..... You can only say it is a "safe" environment... Like in the barbie!!!!

And best of all.... Discussing it gives us new, more believeable excuses to use in future... It helps us perfect our technique...

However at the moment I wouldnt mind being able to do a bit of housework... But physio this morning has buggered me

I havent been as thorough with my housework lately for various reasons but I hate loathe and detest a dirty floor so I vacuum every day, normally I wash my floor twice a week but have slipped to once a week and polish once a week, sheets changed once a week.

Its a struggle at the moment as I am not well but my dog and cat shed enough to stuff a pillow, not to mention my hair adding to the mix, I so want a Roomba to do my floors.

I feel in this case you have a valid excuse not to do housework, besides, my mother told me that during the night the housework fairies will do it for you if you pray hard enough.

(I have been praying for a long time...)

On a personal level, I'm happy to be a lazy, slovenly woman. I'm also happy to give others who aren't as liberated (looking at Eddie) some excuses

This week I've spent flipping hours doing the citizenship applications for 5 people. Himself said I could have the rest of the week off.. I'm not sure if he's just making himself feel that he has some semblance of control over my weekly activities or if he really believes that he does.

Now would be a good time, while you can't actually do the housework, to make a list of all the chores you have to do.

Leave the list somewhere prominent in the house so everyone knows how much you have to do. Then, when you actually can do housework, tick a box next to something on the list.

By ticking the box, the housework will automatically be done.

OMG, I think I should have one. Will it do open plan? Go room to room?
If it sucks up jewellery off a teenagers bedroom floor, is the jewellery salvageable?

I think probably everyone should have one.

Members of the housework liberation movement could probably get subsidies to buy them.

Yeah it can do open plan and go room to room (it'll go all over the place, but you can stop it going from areas by using the invisible wall infrared signal thingy that comes with it).

I've never tried salvaging anything that's been sucked up, but I think you can. Just open it up and pull it out.

I definitely recommend them, I love not having to do the hoovering anymore!

A great idea! After years of resistance my OH has finally accepted a dish washer into our lives and is using it full time now. Next stop: a Roomba

It's more essential than a (second) car!

Our rental one packed up over about 10 days ago. Had the new one installed yesterday. Washing dishes by hand is not fun.

Wish I had room for one. Had one in the last rental and I grew to quite like it. Now I have a kitchen the size of a broom cupboard with no room for one

You don't need a dishwasher for microwave dinners
