Getting rid of 2009 was a good thing
Getting rid of 2010 will also be a good thing
....roll on 2011 (I think

Finding out a couple of weeks ago that my part-time job will be no more, so I'm not going on maternity leave, I'm leaving for good. Not the best timing, just before Christmas.
Getting back to Aus and finding out within a few weeks of landing that we're expecting an Aussie-born Aussie.
(We already have a British-born Aussie.)

On the basis that you usually forget all the bad stuff, three things will stick in my mind about 2010:
Graeme McDowell winning the US Open.
Finished my first novel.
Got my first professional acting engagement in Oz.
There is a fourth, but it hasn't happened yet.

My Best friend (in UK) for years died of alchohol induced liver failure
(let this be a warning to you BE winos you know who you are) and to make it doubly bad, I was actually in the UK and didnt get to see her before she died but at least got to go to funeral
. Triply bad got stuck there by an ash cloud
, quadly bad (is that even a word) another good friend also an alchoholic went weird and I ended up walking away from her
. Basically most of my trip to UK.
Flew on a A380 through and ash cloud and made it back with intact engines
Jo
Lot of other good points and bad too.

Not so good: spending most of the year looking for a job after spending the best part of 4 years "not working"
at home with 2 boys under 5. Knocked my confidence a bit
Good: settled on and moved into a great house in a great suburb!
Looking forward to: starting a new job in 2011!
I got an offer last week! Yay me!
