I printed this out and hand it out to people who ask why I want to move to Canada.

I know what you mean. I bumped into some frozen folk that had just flown in from Canada and they handed me this http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...975018,00.html.

I've been to Canada (once) and there's no risk that it'll ever become interesting.

nope, i've had a good think about it and a bag of knives left outside the house is not one of the reasons why we left. Had it been chopsticks? I hate friggin chopsticks

  • Despite extra investment in the NHS it is as inefficient as ever as health authorities have overspent and aren’t recruiting as well as GPs being paid more to do less under the last contracts. - Broadly agree, although that's just my general feeling, don't know enough. NHS is clearly in trouble.
  • He introduced a Human Rights Act which gives more freedom for asylum seekers, criminals and immigrants. - Hmm, shaky ground here. Human Rights are a good thing!
  • More foreigners are gaining jobs than indigenous British citizens as this country becomes swamped. 700,000 new jobs have been in the non wealth-producing public sector at taxpayers expense. - Admittedly this does sound Daily Mailesque, but on the other hand, the govt's crass estimation of how EU enlargement would affect the UK was embarrassing
  • Council tax is soaring over and above inflation, Crime is up as prisons are unable to take in new inmates due to Labour’s incompetence. - Nothing too bollocksy here IMO
  • Teenage pregnancies are also up. - Dunno about this
  • Homosexuals have extra rights as the age of gay consent is reduced from 18-16 and they are allowed to adopt kids. - Very dodgy ground here!
  • Roads are gridlocked and public transport is a joke. - Correct
  • Education is a bigger joke with prizes for all and young people urged to go to university (and get in debt) although there aren’t enough graduate jobs in the economy to satisfy demand. - I agree with this.

On the whole, i think this post is not "Bollocks" and i for one would appreciate a more reasoned response. Very badly formatted, but not total bollocks!

I think what Grayling meant to say was 'if you think moving to another country means you can escape some of these issues then you will be disappointed'

At least yours was better thought out rather than decrying another persons post as simply bollocks.

Some things to think about, and this takes me back to when i was young the similarities between now and the late 70's are very very similar?

Labour are coming to an end as a political party which is really trusted. You just cannot believe anything they say anymore. Not that i would put any more trust in the Conservatives, but Labour are in power and Brown is a power hungry loner who does not listen to anyone?

The rich are getting richer, the poor poorer, when we as a nation feel poor, it is because of rising costs, real inflation, and the lack of jobs, unemployment.

As we become fed up with all the lies from the government, we take to mind numbing substances more, we drink more, we try to escape to another place. So we are being told we drink too much, well what a surprise?

The young cannot get jobs, cannot afford a car, cannot afford anything, no future, told to stay on at school, get a load of debt, get a degree, to get a minimum paid wage job etc etc.

This is not an excuse, but the public as a whole start to commit more crime, public mis-behaviour becomes something that we see rise, so we need more police on the streets, this costs, so we pay more in tax, we get poorer.

The whole family breakdown starts, the stress and strain on mum and dad is intense, no work, just about afford the basics, dad drinks too much, mum is tired. Society makes the needy and unemployed feel not too good.

The next thing is all the unemployment is blamed on the fact that the goverment have let too many people in the country, they have taken all our jobs. This is where we are at now.

The feel good factor has gone, rising costs, rising unemployment, rising cost of servicing debt, stagnant wages, stagnant house prices.

Brown really does have some work to do if he is to secure another term in office here in the UK.

Because where i am standing, i do not think the British public feel too well off at the moment, and the young kids leaving school just do not stand a chance?
Spot on!

There was a full-on knife fight in some dodgy suburb the other day between Aboriginies and Maori. Result - 1 dead, many in hospital.

The sun was shining the next day too.

Why shouldnt the age of consent not be 16 for gay people when it is for straight they should have the same rights as us, as for adopting kids they should have the right to this also!

I agree, equal rights for all regardless of sexuality.

Also, what about Labour's "Ethical foreign policy" remember that? what's that all about? Trying to start world war 3 based on lies and killing 300,000 innocent people?

Howard is just as bad - George Bush's "sherrif" in Asia? what a dick
