one year i planned my holiday around them,making sure i was there for the final at great expense...i got the family a top each with our family emblem on the back,rattles,them horrible horn things,face paint,them mad hats with the horns on,flags..the bleedin lot...!

how can we loose,i was certain we were going all the way!!

how wrong was i........again!!!

I gave up on watching England play at the last World Cup. Was at the Frat with all the people watching, me with my England scarf on, can't remember who they were playing but I felt so embarrassed for them (and me :o) as we were thrashed once again.........:o

I have never understood how we have some of the best team players in the world, but when they get together as a country team they are RUBBISH!!! :sneaky:

my Dad reckons next two England games will be against Tiptree Rovers then Wivenhoe Utd .... He doesn't rate Englands chances against either of these teams..

As I have said in another thread England have not had a great TEAM since the sixties and early seventies. Sure, we've had, and still do have, outstanding individual players, but to win matches consistently you need 11 players giving their all for each other. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to happen too often.

Oh well, here we go..Tribes and tribulations of the national team!

It's always easy to sit and criticize but the facts are clear:

1. We have way more foreign players in the EPL which makes it hard for local youngsters to get any experience at top level because teams like Chelsea, Man U, Arsenale etc. are always bringing in foreign players :thumbdown:

2. In bred inside every English player the steeped feelings of being thouroghly ganged up upon by the ref, fans, media and anyone else for that matter! That spirit of them vs us makes our players play like stiff gingerbread men! :frown:

Could go on but that would suffice for now.

Sorry BB, but that has to be the most bullshit reply I have ever heard... Pure speculation... at the end of the day they didnt get to play, so who the **** would know if they would do better or worse? They didnt even qualify for the tournament. End of. Losers? They haven't won a match yet, but they haven't officially lost.... yeah... they played like they were crap... I personally blame the share holders that now dominate the bloody premiership and don't want to release the players to train with the national team (wtf is that all about? Division 1 worked for me... who the hell needs the "premiership" bollx?) :)

Anyway... ask me about Coronation Street and I will probably give a more informed and intelligent reply! ;)

I set my alarm to get up and watch this game knowing deep down I was better off sleeping. An absolute pitiful display, it was like watching zombies lurching around. No style, no flair and they didnt even look like they wanted to be there.

Personally I think their poor display is a combination of high expectation, lack of passion and no real ticker. A healthy dose of GENUINE national pride wouldnt go astray either. A bunch of jaded and overpaid chokers.

I'm not sure I buy into the excuse about too many foreigners in the English game. The Spanish, German, French and Italian leagues have been awash with foreigners for years now and they have all managed to win tournaments or least make the final in the last decade.

The current English squad contains too many media whore type of players who have little passion or pride for the national team. They are epitamised by a poor captain who even did a post match interview wearing the American shirt. Where was his pride and passion for England? I don't remember past England captains doing this piss taking crap.
