thanks for the messages guys - fireman came round and checked and he says in his experience, yes it is a logically answer - went into college tonight and someone on my course used to work for an aquatics shop and said, oooo it's not one of those tanks is it - they are known for people's houses going up!! They set fire to things - there is a warning on the box which says do not place in sunlight!!!!!!
So I missed that but we have had the tank for a year, it is now moved out of sunlight - we are all fine and dandy so that is cool......
