I don't know if it is because the internet has given them a voice, whether we go out of our way to ask their opinions or whether they are just getting louder, but whingers and whiners seem to dominate our national forums.

House builders?
The banks?
Medical (and the implications for the ill?) think insurance companies, medical providers?
Utilities?
See a high income industry and tax it - forced income equalisation will stunt growth. Ah well await the incoming govt

- if 'stunting growth' is a bad thing, then why do we seek to control growth through monetary policy?
perhaps controlling growth = facilitating the growth of some, at the expense of others....

Not strictly true. Once, when I told him his opinions were wrong and used Australian Bureau of Statistics figures to prove it and he told me I could "shove those figures up my f#$kin @r5e"

Sorry, I actually didn't mean that the way you have taken it, and I can see how you could have misinterpreted what I said.
I did not mean to imply that anyone who loved the UK would love Australia.
My point was that whingers and moaners about the UK, who then move to Australia, are likely to be whingers and moaners about Australia, whereas people who were not whingers and moaners in the UK are not likely to be whingers and moaners here.
In other words, the whinging and moaning comes from within, not from external influences.
