To the op ... look at all the options and decide if you are happy to go it alone or if you want to use an agent (make sure they are MARA registered and you should avoid the 'problem' agents). Either way make sure it is your decision and that you are happy with it.
Good luck whatever you decide

In the end we signed up with Go Matilda and so far (we are sorting skills assessment as we speak!) they have answered all emails within 24 hours and phoned when they said they would so we are happy.
We are getting a little 'off topic' here
Have you had any more thoughts on where you might live?!

I am determined not to rule anywhere out at the moment so we could still end up anywhere but ........
probably can't afford sydney - i think that melbourne is too big for us - don't think adelaide will be any good for work - so that leaves brisbane, perth and canberra.
being so confused myself i like to find out where other people are planning on going and why!

Try looking at regional area's in NSW there some nice places that are cheaper than Sydney.
We are off to OZ in Oct for a visit landing in Melbourne but staying with rellies in Albury which is on the NSW/VIC border prices there are resonable. between $300k to $400k will get nce house and land.
Just worth a thought.

we would love to be able to head out into the regional areas but as we both work in IT we expect that we will need to be within commuting distance of one of the major cities.
We are still hoping to live somewhere at least semi-rural but this means that we really need to be looking at the smaller cities in order to keep travelling time to something sensible.

EDIT: oops - just realised that i have posted this on my sons login!!! Should have been Tiggs+Graz!!!!

hi there
We are using overseas emmigration, can only sing thier praises, very helpful, supportive and proffessional.
On the subject of where to live, we too do not know where to go, we have had a rekkie in brisbane, fantastic place. but perth keeps calling us, wish we had fitted it in on our rekkie but with two small children there is only so much you can do and we went to new zealand aswell (awful place), The only thing is with perth, people seem to be quite negative about the place, a friend at work who has lived there says its ok if your ambitionless and/or retired as there is nothing to do! has anyone seen the size of the place its massive!! how can there not be anything to do!
Anyone out there who can tell me has something to offer would be great as it looks fab on the net,
Beth.
