Does your budgie pack your smugglers? Can we see you coming from around a corner and can you give banana boat rides on your budgie to the girls on the beach?

Step this way as Scottishcelts and Sasbear and myself are awaiting!

Christmas morning at home with just hubby and our sons opening the pressies, having a cooked brekky with bucks fizz (which, worryingly my 11 year old is really looking forward to).

Then off to lunch at a friends house where 4 families with gather, each taking an indian meal with all the trimmings for a curry extravaganza.

Then, home not too late (who am I kidding) because the next morning we are all setting off to the Sunshine Coast to camp till the 30th December (weather permitting).

Then, just when our livers are literally screaming for mercy, we will head home to the Goldie to get ready for a New Year's Eve party at ours.

Nothing.......................(cue tumbleweed).....................

No friends, family or even neighbours, though we will be able to hear them enjoying themselves next door.

Have some fizzy stuff to drink, and am in the process of doing the ham and the trifle. Finished the cake, and will make mince pies later.

Weather forecast isn't good, so still won't make it to the beach.

Nothing for New Year either.........................

Christmas Eve will be spent round a friends house, having some drinks and a BBQ.

Chrismas morning skyping the family in England so they can see the kids open their pressies, then champagne breakfast followed by a full traditional Christmas dinner which my lovely husband will be cooking.

Boxing Day I imagine the cricket will be on in our house...

And New Years Eve we're having a party!

Love Christmas

I have NFI

I'm feeling a bit shellshocked this morning as we've just cancelled our flights to the UK, have no alternative plans and no food in the house. We'll manage. We'll stay home (first christmas in our own home in ten years) and we'll save the flight money for a trip when the weather/travel situation eases.

Might go buy a barbie and a ton of prawns. Hell, I might even hunt down the deccies.

I thought things had eased up at Heathrow?? Sorry to hear your plans have fallen through. Oh well it will be a novelty for you to have Christmas in your own home! Throw another shrimp on the barbie.

Landing at Heathrow would be the easy part, B-dub. Anyway decision made, now to get on and make the most of it. Might even go lie by the pool while The Geek is at work today

Good point, Bernie. My niece said my sister was wondering what to do with a big chicken, pork, trifle, etc., they'd got in for us - I suggested they share it with any elderly neighbours who can't get out because of the snow.

I've been googling Sydney soup kitchens but it seems they get too many volunteers!

My elderly single neighbour has saved me the problem by moving house the other week - he took my spare keys, several of my books and your internet dongle with him, so he's getting nowt for Christmas......

However, I do agree with the sentiment in general
