Know its not dangerous, just wondered what it was. First saw it when I was sitting at traffic lights and it was walking across the windscreen...Looked really weired from underneath
Anyway, the Aussie bloke I was with didn't know what it was called, but I reckon someone on here will have the answer

Looks like a variety of Leafhopper to me but I've only seen bright green ones. Quite cute.

Hard to tell from the piccie but it could be a 'stink bug'. One of those big Shield Beetles that you get on citrus trees?

Mmmm...not sure....once it flew off the car and was on the ground with other leaves it was quite hard to spot.
Got Aussie cousins coming round later....I'll ask them

It is called a bronze orange bug (aka stink bug) - be warned they are horrid. Live on citrus trees. Organic way of removal is boiling water in bucket, knock bugs into it. You can do pretty well with this method.
They suck sap of your fruit
They spray acid.
They fly
I got sprayed in the eye when doing my weekly removal - flew underneath my safety goggle things. It really hurt then I looked like I had a massive black eye down my face (husband was embarrassed) then all the skin peeled off my face and I was back to normal.
Best thing to do is spray underneath of you citrus leaves in early nov and march when they lay their eggs then they cant adhere. Eggs are laid in rows of 4 I think, htey are like little transparent fish eggs. Quite different.
