This is a wolf spider. see the 'Union Jack' flag pattern on the back? And several rows of eyes?

Definite fangs, and the 'U' shape on the abdomen...

It's ok. It's only happened once in a year so I can cope with that.

Much rather have a huntsman go over my face than a cockroach... given the choice.

But of course, you know that statistically, everyone eats a certain amount of spiders in their lifetime, regardless of their country?

What should therefore comfort you is that fact that Australian spiders are too big to swallow.
