Easy one for a change.

Golden Orb Weaver.

Very nice... catches a lot of bugs... leave it alone. Harmless to humans. :)
Nice gold web too.

It doesn't move that fast!

And they don't eat humans. They prefer more easily digestible foods.

Nice interesting spider for kids to look at too ... stays within the web and wraps its prey in silk.

They don't favour porridge. Their feet get stuck.

Huntsman.

Shy and retiring type which are timid and don't get defensive. Move quickly and eat the bad nasties in your house. Prefer these than cockroaches any day ...:D

a bit scary though when it is late at night and you are up surfing the net and one of these walks up the wall next to you

Keep them in the house if you can.

They won't bite at all, unless you treat them really badly.

What's scarier is when one walks over your face at night and you wake up in a sweat. And you tell your OH what happened and he thinks you're paranoid... until the following night one walks over his face too.
