There, of course, are times when driving at a speed on the limit or even close to it is also dangerous to other road users, would you drive at the limit on snow, in heavy rain, in fog, so you need to drive to the conditions of the weather and the road, so, even if the weather is dry and there is excellent light, on a winding country road driving at, or even close to, the speed limit is frankly stupid and dangerous, to yourself, but more importantly, to other road users. I have no problem with people driving at the speed limit on poor roads, as long as I, or other drivers, are not around, and if you do crash you will not take out anyone, or anything else.

We've got a road near us that has so many crosses nailed on trees it's mad. People do the speed limit and you can't. Well you can but you'd be a moron to do it. Most of those who've crashed and burned were guys, under 25, driving utes. Retards the lot of them.

One guy overturned and went down the bank on his roof, managed to get out with minor cuts and bruises, called his girlfriend to come and get him, she decided to go as fast as she could to get there, rolled and crashed down the same bank as him. She ended up with concussion and a broken leg. Luckily no one else was involved.

Top tips:
If you are going to drive at 95 on a 100 road, at least have the courtesy to keep in the left-hand lane

If you are driving on a single-land road at least have the decency to drive at the speed limit so as not to inconvenience and frustrate other drivers. If you can't/wont/are too scared to keep to the speed limit, stay off the roads or let a real driver drive you

Of course not. That is why I mention the "clear, sunny day" when you would have no real excuse to not drive at the limit. And the speed limit should be set according to the road conditions on a clear day as to alleviate your whole second point. Everywhere I go where there are poor, winding country roads the speed limit is reduced from 80kph to 60 or even 50 kph.

Should they not lower the limit then? Thats what has been done on similar roads where many accidents have happened, not due to speeding, but due to an excessively high speed limit. The limit has been lowered and increased police presence to enforce it.

When people refuse to accept when they are wrong and instead take you through a very clearly made up on the spot explanation as to why they did a certain thing and why it was the best decision at the time based on what they knew then and can clearly explain to you now how to do it a more efficient way even though you already told them the right way to do it and had to sit and be polite through their bullshit because you are trying to show your team spirit. **** those people who can't just put their ego to one side for 5 ****ing minutes.

On that topic, "team spirit", "team player" and other bullshit corporate marketing terms such as that.

Yes and also, those people who aren't on your team but send a group email and start it with 'Hi Team,'.

The amount of rubbish along the roads here in NSW - it's a total disgrace and worthy of a third world slum.

I can remember posting this grouse some years back only to be told that it's not the same in other states - still true?

I drove from Bowral to Casula a couple of days ago and the sides of the freeway were covered with trash: I really wanted to stop and take some photos but would sure as eggs is eggs would have been fined for stopping. (Another grump.)

The high winds t'other weekend ripped off the cover of our notskylight.

The excessive rains are now entering the house (fortunately via the bathroom, and it's the kids' bathroom so it's actually helpful)

I have no idea what to call the notskylight and, being astoundingly British, am not intending calling a roofer until I know I won't sound like a divvy when I try to describe the notskylight.

This in itself isn't making me grumpy (I have a high grump tolerance level) but the bloody looks MrDreamy keeps giving me when I tell him I have failed once more to sort it out is doing me nut in.

Haven't noticed it up here in QLD, really, but I'm sure some areas will be like that. I find Queensland to be pretty clean.

Maybe invest in a dashcam to record it and then complain to the local council about it.

The only things I regularly see on the side of the road is pillows. I have no idea how people regularly lose pillows

My grumble.... After a chat with my doc, we decided I could come off my ulcer meds about 8 months ago. Had to go back on them today as I have an ulcer. Seriously pissed off as it hurts like a bitch and it'll take a while to settle down. Buy shares in Gaviscon.

Kids on trips with pillows, car sick, spew on pillow, pillow out the window (no idea really, but thought I'd try to come up with something)

Sorry to hear about your ulcer MP
